"And they were all young men (and young women), and they were exceedingly valiant for courage, and also for strength and activity; but behold, this was not all- they were men (and women) who were true at all times in whatsoever thing they were entrusted."

Happy Pday! (June 7, 2010)

Well, another fantastic week here in Ventura!  We are just finding investigators by the dozens (ok that's an exagerration)- but we really have found even more this week.  We think that it's a result of the faith of the people in the branch and our investigators.  They are constantly praying for us to be led to people who are prepared to hear the gospel, and the Lord definitely guides our way.  Just the other day we had a plan fall through and looked at our back up plan to realize that it actually made no sense whatsoever.  We were thinking about moving on to the next plan, but the thought came to my mind that everything in this work happens for a reason, so we followed what we had written and went to the house of this potential investigator that we hadn't been able to contact for the last couple months.  He was standing there at his door and he said he had some time to be taught.  As we offered the opening prayer he began to cry and then he told us about how he was so confused about the many churches in the world.  He could tell we cared about him and really were listening to what he was saying, which helped him to open up to us.  The Spirit was there strong throughout the lesson and we told him that what he felt was the Holy Ghost, that testifies of truth.  We set a return appointment and we're excited to teach him.  I can't tell you how many times we've had experiences like these, where the Lord truly guides us to His childre that He clearly loves very much.  When Elder Bednar was here he told us of stories of where he's been led to individuals to help and teach since he's been an Apostle.  He said that with his keys, he doesn't go anywhere by accident.  That definitely applies to missionary work and our experiences as the Lord's servants.  It's so humbling- especially knowing how imperfect we are, and how patient the Lord is with us.  I am so grateful for the trust he puts in us, despite our weaknesses.  The Lord uses His servants, especially when He knows we are trying to do our best.  That's all He asks of us, and in return He gives us so many blessings.  What He asks seems so small compared to what He gives us in return.
Our baptism for little 9 year old Ebel went great!  He's quite the handful, but he felt very special and good.  I'm gonna try and send pictures this week.
Tengan una buena semana!  Les Amo Mucho!

PS-Lindsey, I don't think I ever told you how I see little Kingstons everywhere!  Everybody has a chihuahua and they always make me think of Kingston.  I just can't escape him :)
